On June 17, Dalian Sports Center and Damai Group established official relations and signed a contract valued more than RMB 100 million yuan, and the gymnasium of Sports Center is officially renamed as Damai Center. A RMB 30 million yuan fund was established to support cultural performance. This means there will be more cultural shows coming to Dalian, acting as the driving force for the market of sports and culture in Dalian, and manifesting the charm of the city.

       According to the plan of Damai, several hundred million will be invested to build intelligent cultural venues in key cities. The gymnasium of Sports Center was selected as the first project for in-depth cooperation, and such choice means a lot for both parties. Xu Wei, COO of Damai Group said “Dalian Sports Center is the largest comprehensive facility for entertainment in the Northeast China, and a first class venue following international standards and feasible for market-oriented operation. In addition, Dalian has strong radiating force upon the three provinces of Northeast China with economic vitality. After several rounds of investigation, Damai Group finally placed the first chess piece of our industrial distribution in Dalian.”

       Fund establishment, as part of the contract, emphasizes the signal of Dalian Sports Center’s role of “culture boosting economy”. According to the plan, the fund will encourage the gymnasium of Sports Center to introduce first class performances from home and abroad with bonuses and subsidies. It means the gymnasium of Sports Center will be more attractive to top stars, radiating force of performance towards other regions will increase dramatically, thus forming a virtuous cycle, forging a new growth pole for the city economy, and enlarging the stage for Dalian to display its charisma to the world.
