From May 22 to May 23, the seven-children-a-side football challenge will be held in the Comprehensive Ball Hall of the Comprehensive Stadium of the Sports Center. What makes it so different is that all the participants are children younger than 7 years old, the youngest of whom is only four-year-old toddler. Though they are young, the challenge is quite exciting and has attracted great attention from the public. This is the 10th Gangjingzi District ‘Children’s Cup’ Children’s Football Challenge.

       There are 20 teams and 220 children participating in this challenge, which are all from kindergartens in Ganjingzi District. It adopts the competition system of group round robin. Each football game is 20 minutes. All the football teams will be ranked in accordance with the accumulated scores from the highest to the lowest.

       Young football players will struggle and run on football fields, and compete with each other in each offence and defense, looking quite like professional players. They will jump and cheer for joy and run on football fields, and get up even if they tumble. Parents and teachers in kindergartens will become their big fans and cheer up for them, whose cheers will resound through the football fields.

       It has been ten years since the first Gangjingzi District ‘Children’s Cup’ Children’s Football Challenge. From less than 10 teams that participated in this challenge at the beginning to 20 teams this year, the atmosphere of children’s football sport in Ganjingzi District has been increasingly intensified. This event will be held continuously, enabling more children in kindergartens to participate in this activity. Through competitions, children could harvest profound experience of football in their hearts and feel the charm of football, which will make them love football more than before, and strive to become the future of Dalian football.
