2017 ‘China Sports Lottery Cup’ International Youth Handball Summer Camp (Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao) Was Successfully Rounded up

Sponsored by Chinese Handball Association, undertaken by Dalian Municipal Sports Bureau and co-sponsored by Dalian Sports Center, 2017 China Sports Lottery International Youth Handball Summer Camp (Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao) was successfully rounded off in Dalian Sports Center. There are 20 teams, 322 players and coaches from China, Denmark, Hungary, etc., participating in this summer camp. After three-day 41 competitions, Chinese Taipei won the first prize for U12 boys’ team, Hefei No.3 Senior High School won the first prize for U18 boys’ team, and Hong Kong, China won the first prize for U18 girls’ team.

This summer camp is aimed at increasing the influence of handball in the field of domestic youth sports, and promoting cultural exchanges among youth handball fans. With sports as the channel, and ‘communication first, competition second’ as the principle, this competition showed the world the service characteristics of the host city while broadening the youth handball players’ horizons. Besides the regular friendship matches, this summer camp is arranged with such featured activities as foreign coaches’ trainings on exchanges of skills, famous Internet bloggers’ live broadcast and interaction, exchanges of basic skills, half-day tour of the coastal city Dalian, award ceremony, etc. On the night of July 17, the award ceremony and gala was held on the square, Zone B, Stadium of the Sports Center, where 11 awards, e.g. ‘MVP’, ‘Best Coach’, etc., were given. In the art performance, Council Chairman of Macao General Handball Association, all members of Denmark SLA Club, dance team of Donggang Elementary School, each participating team, referees, volunteers, and organizers of the host city showed themselves through Shandong Clapper Ballad, ethnic dances, handball aerobics, popular songs, etc. The performances were wonderful, and the atmosphere was warm. In the cool night breeze, the young handball players’ unforgettable trip to Dalian ended.

Principals of this competition said that it is rare to find a venue in China with three indoor handball fields equipped with soft and hard floors, and a training hall provided with air conditioning guarantee. In terms of competition guarantee, it refers to the refined volunteer service contents of large-scale international competitions like Beijing Olympic Games, thereby ensuring close connections between the Competition Department and coach of each team, and a smooth progress of the competition. The environment of the dining, accommodation andcompetition stadium is clean and tidy. Detailed competition organization and considerate logistical support left deep impressions on each handball team. The participating players and coaches marveled at the Sports Center. All teams said that they would come to Dalian if given the opportunity in the future. And they hope that Dalian would send elite young handball players to participate in the competition, for the purpose of jointly promoting continuous development of youth handball sports.

Besides the competition guarantee, the service and reception work gained high evaluation. Dalian Phoenix Hotel (Dalian Sports Center Media Center) received a Letter of Thanks.

I stayed in your hotel and I thought your service quality is far more excellent than general five-star hotels. I have travelled around the world, and led teams to many places. Compared with hotels in other places, I thought your hotel has first-class services, which is worthy of praise. After returning to Macao, I would write a letter to the Macao Government Tourist Office to commend your company on your service attitude. Macao is the ‘East Casino’, and we have many five-star hotels, whose services are inferior to yours. We should learn from you.
