In this year, the Sports Center has successively undertaken large-sized national and international sports events, the number of which has stricken a new high, and the quality has been further promoted, thereby making new breakthroughs. The organization of sports events plays a positive role in cultivating urban sports industry, increasing the reputation of the Sports Center, and comprehensively enhancing the influence of the city.

       In 2016, the Sports Center successfully held and undertaken 35 sports events, totaling up to 1,200 games, which included international and national sports events like CFA Team China International Football Match, WTA 125 Dalian International Women’s Open, “Industrial Bank Cup” Sino-Australian Men's International Basketball Challenge, “Zheshang Asset Management Cup” CFA Indoor  Five-a-side Football Championship, National Professional American Indoor Football League, National Basketball Open, etc. Moreover, it functioned as the base training and home game field for Dalian Yifang Men’s Football Team and Dalian Quanjian Women’s Football Team, which provided top-notch competition guarantee services for Dalian football teams.

       It is the centerpiece for the Sports Center to create a high-end platform for events and competitions in this year. On June 7, CFA Team China International Football Match China VS Kazakhstan was kicked off in the Sports Center. Before the match, the Sports Center had specially set up guarantee team to improve the software and hardware facilities for the football field and functional rooms. During the event, the Sports Center provided services for more than 300 players, officials and reporters as per requirements of International A Level Games to ensure the smooth progress from organization, reception to live broadcast. According to report, an estimated number of 35,000 football fans watched the game on the spot and the game received high evaluation from CFA and the participating football teams, which symbolizes that the Sports Center has the capacity to undertake International A Level Games and march towards international top-level stadium;On September 11, 8-day WTA 125 Dalian International Women’s Open was rounded off in TEBON SECURITIES Dalian Tennis Center (Dalian Sports Center-Tennis Center) which had undertaken this Open for two consecutive years. This event attracted 53 tennis players from 23 countries and regions to participate in and more than 10,000 tennis fans to watch, thus becoming a brand event in Dalian; on September 11, Sino-Australian Men's International Basketball Challenge was started in Damai Center (Dalian Sports Center-stadium). The stadium employed international top-level facilities like special floor for basketball, funnel screen scoring system and on-site game recorder to enable players and audience to feel the charm of standard NBA basketball fields.

       In 2007, besides CFA League One, CFA Super League (Women), etc., the Sports Center will become the home game field for Dalian Puwan Anbo Team, and undertake 2016-2017 CFA Indoor Five-a-side League One.

       Active bid for and introduction of major sports events adaptive to the city is of great significance to giving play to the stadium resource advantages of the Sports Center, creating brand events of the city, and bringing the operation of the Sports Center to a new level. The Sports Center will bring in more sports events of influence in future to enable citizens to experience wonderful high-standard sports events in their home city.
