“Always Liu Dehua’s Concert Tour in China for 2013” in Dalian station commenced strongly in the evening on the day before yesterday and yesterday evening in the cheers of more than ten thousand fans in Dalian Zhongshen Cultural Center. This was a passionate reunion of Liu Dehua with the fans in Dalian after 12 years. This iron man aged more than 50 not only sang with effort for two hours and a half globally, but also put on a non-old legend of a god through a series life-risking actions taking our breath away such as hot dancing, martial art, rolling, rising to sky, etc.……In the final show stage, he even stood on a pedal lifted by a single steel cable rising slowly to almost the sports gym ceiling height to interact with the fans. In one wave after another cries as “I love you, Liu Dehua”, Liu Dehua became so excited that he came into tears and finally he sang with his voice becoming hoarse. Besides dances, martial arts, grand music operas of four different major schools, what were applied in a great deal were dazzling light, strange and changeful stage organs and magnificent water curtain, water dances that were too much for the audiences to watch on the spot and crazed the audiences. The audiences seemed as if having walked in a time tunnel and been absorbed in one after another classic golden songs presented by Liu Dehua.
The high-end, generous and top-class stage is only for “king superstar”
The last time when Liu Dehua came to Dalian to present a concert was 2001. After 12 years apart, the enthusiasm of the fans in Dalian to Liu Dehua seemed to become stronger though the spot changed from an open sports stadium to an indoor gym. The super-class stage built at a cost of RMB 80 million is of higher end, more generous and higher in class. Certainly, this high-end, generous and super-class stage is only for “king superstar”. The inside of the sports gym of Zhongsheng Cultural Center was almost fully crowded by this finely-made four-sided stage, however, this endowed the fans in Dalian with a happy experience to have a close contact with the idol. The seat occupancy rate was almost full in the two-day performances. The concert commenced with a song “Real Forever”. In European palace dress, Liu Dehua, like a fairy tale prince, was lowered slowly from the sky above the stage. By means of the dancing ball lights arranged in the air, the audiences seemed as if having been brought into the mysterious and vast universe.
Though at the commencement there was a small episode that the microphone had a loss of voice, it did not influence the voiceless interaction between the fans and idol. In orderly enthusiastic applause, Liu Dehua bowed to show his thanks to the fans on the stands on the four sides respectively. Liu Dehua said excitedly: “It seemed that I came to Dalian long ago. When I came this time and saw you, I feel that the fans in Dalian are more lovable. Today, you just take it as a concert of your own and I will accompany you to play for the whole night.” In the performance for more than two hours, Liu Dehua generously showed his sexy abdominal muscle while taking gorgeous dance steps. He sang tirelessly the classic golden songs in the past 30 years since he became famous, Divine Will, Chinese, My Real Graceful Bearing, My Pursued Dream and I……there were also such songs in Cantonese as I Hate my Infatuation, Those Days Spent Together, 17-year Old, all woke up the collective memories of the fans. Almost as soon as the prelude for every song came up, the applauses, shrieks down stage could be heard all over before Liu Dehua started.
“Going to sky and entering into ground”, Liu Dehua virtually sang with life
In the two-day concert, we could say that Liu Dehua “went to sky and entered into ground” on the stage and seemed to sing with life.
At the beginning of the concert, a small round platform pulled by only 4 steel cables carried Liu Dehua to appear in the sky above the stage. In the music opera link in the latter half section of the performance, he played the part of a “new star” singer to fight with gang members. He finally was thrown onto the table and knocked over the table and fell on the ground heavily with several people beating and kicking him. Then he was lifted in air. Full efforts were made. In singing My Pursued Dream and I, in order to get closer to the audiences on the back stand, he landed onto a swinging raising platform to rise to the level of 3-story stand to sing. In the melody of Real Forever, he sang whiling dancing, with adventures astounding the audiences. But this was not an extreme, at the end of the concert, Liu Dehua landed on a coverless hanging basket, who was secured only by a safety belt fastened to his waist, to rise to a 5-story level. Then he traversed along the top layer steel frame of the stage to “singing whiling walking” to have another close contact with all the fans present. Liu Dehua said: “You called me Hua Zai before. Later you called me Big Brother (when I became a gang member). Now I am a father. My identity may have changed. But I am still Liu Dehua.” Indeed, in the 30 plus years from becoming famous, whether as a singing star, a movie star or a boss, he always that diligent, industrious and struggling Liu Dehua and he is always the “god” in the hearts of his fans.
In performances everywhere, Liu Dehua is intimate and considerate to fans on the spot. In the performances in yesterday evening and the evening on the day before yesterday, he showed a particular love for the fans of Dalian. He greeted the fans from time to time and invited the fans to have a grand chorus together with him. In singing Forgiving Love, he pointed the microphone to the fans on the stands from time to time to listen to their enthusiastic responses. In singing Silly Child, he simply ran to and sat on the bridge protruding out of the round stage to single with a deep feeling face to face together with the fans at a close distance. In the following singing interacting with the music fans, Liu Dehua, like a past relative and an old friend walking leisurely from the depths of the old time, talked about slowly what was experienced in the past 30 plus years of accompanying with each other.
Put on outstanding love on annular water curtain
In the first two parts of the concert, the western mysterious black and the eastern enthusiastic red brought the fans into an ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign atmosphere. The following water curtain at the time when Liu Dehua sang Chinese was more amazing, which made the fans immersed in it for a long time and hard to pull out. This set of “annular water curtain” device ordered specially from France can not only imitate the effect of waterfall and rain, but can also serve as an annular projection silver screen. What is the most amazing is that when it falls from air, it can form huge characters with water drops. When Liu Dehua sang Chinese, the three characters of “中国人(Chinese)” formed by water fell from air constantly when the gym was full of awes all over. In spite of this, the scene, music still switches to dance music with a neat and fast rhythm. At this time, we saw Liu Dehua appear on the stage again, wearing a sunglass and a white jean and having such dance steps as in a Michael Jackson style with the dance group uniformly. In singing Believe Yourself, Liu Dehua suddenly tore his white coat hard to expose the six firm abdominal muscles experiencing 2-month intense exercise. The fans on the spot immediately got crazed by making various shrieks. After finishing this excellent dance, Liu Dehua said with smile: “As a matter of fact, this kind of dance is not something for my age. Sooner or later I will become one that can not dance. It is hoped that you help me dance on. As long as one people is supporting me, I will sing on all the way.”
The biggest highlight of the concert is a music drama lasting for half an hour, in which there was fighting of Liu Dehua with “gang” and there were a lot of passionate lingers of a high degree with sexy female dancers. Liu Dehua used the most care in the design of this music drama link. On the water curtain going down with a tremendous momentum, a character of “秦(qin)” was printed. Then with time elapsing, the images from the Qin Dynasty to the old Shanghai were projected on the water screen. The music drama told a bittersweet love story encountered by a terra cotta warrior in Qin cutting across the Republic of China. Liu Dehua showed up in the design of a terra cotta warrior, an outstanding love was connected in series by music. Where the singing came to separation between the loved ones in life and death, Liu Dehua had already become choked with sobs. These water curtain performances have been presented on stage for times which have changes by going with songs. When singing Ice Rain, it really rained on the stage……such one after another scenes left all little partners immersed deeply in the drama on the spot dumbfounded.
