Dalian Open Gets Ready Former World No.2 Player Will Appear in the Sports Center
The 2017 Dalian Open held for the third time will offer a top-level tennis feast for fans at the Tebon Securities Dalian Tennis Center (Dalian Sports Center-Tennis Center) from September 3 to September 10. The global application deadline of this competition is August 14. So far, this competition has attracted over 60 professional players from such countries as China, Russia, Austria, Australia, India and Japan, including 29 players who rank among WTA’s Top 200. Besides, China’s female tennis players will gather in the coastal city. For foreign players, the participation of famous Russian tennis player Vera Zvonareva, whose career high is world No.2 by WTA singles, adds more compelling contents to the competition.
Vera Zvonareva is a Russian tennis player, whose career high is world No.2 by WTA singles and world No.9 by WTA doubles. In 2003, she won her first WTA tour singles title at the Croatia Open; in 2004, she won her second tour singles title at Memphis, and won her firstGrand Slam mixed doubles title at the U.S. Open; in 2006, she reached the third round of the U.S. Open in singles and won the mixed doubles title at the Wimbledon Championships; in 2008, she won the bronze medal for women’s singles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and won the second place at the WTA finals; in 2010, she won the second place for women’s singles at the Wimbledon Championships; in 2010, she won the second place for women’s singles at the U.S. Open; in 2012, she won the women’s doubles title at the Australian Open.

Wang Yafan won the women’s doubles title with her partner Liang Chen at the 2015 WTA Malaysian Open; in 2016, she achieved her first Grand Slam victory in the second round of women's singles at the U.S. Open, and qualified for women’s singles raceat the 2016 Australian Open; in 2017, she won the women’s singles title at ITF Tianjin.
