Dalian Discovery Kingdom

     In Jul. 16, 2006, Dalian Discovery Kingdom Theme Park rose in Golden Pebble Beach National Holiday Resort. The Discovery Kingdom Theme Park was invested and constructed by Dalian Haichang Group and Singapore Sirik Petroleum Co., Ltd. jointly. The investment in the first phase is RMB 1 billion yuan. The park covers an area of 470 thousand sq. m., which was planned and designed by RPVA Company USA who participated in Disney design. The top management team of Korea Samsung Everland Inc. for the Discovery Kingdom Theme Park is involved in global operation and management to strive for building a Chinese “Disney”. The Crazy Small Town of Dalian Discovery Kingdom was open on Jul. 16 and closed on Nov. 27 for phase II renovation in winter. In as short as four months, the Discovery Kingdom received nearly one million domestic and foreign tourists.
     The park has six major scenic spots, which are Crazy Small Town, Mysterious Desert, Metal Works, Magic Discovery Kingdom Theme Park Forest,  Legend Castle and Wedding Hall. In which, each small them park incorporates different buildings in different historic periods and different regional cultures, song and dance performance, commercial food and beverage, amusement facilities, etc. and each theme zone has a story line running through in it. For example, there is a “Ghost House” in the Legend Castle, which is an item combining 3 different play facilities: “Mysterious Game House” (exhibiting interesting small machine parts, similar to “believe or not, it is up to you”), “Maureen Secret Laboratory” (making tourists experience unexpected rotation inside) and “King Arthur’s Round Table” (The Story of the Sword in the Stone, and experiencing the secret of centrifugal force by means of rotation and plane floor descending), the whole story line is to let tourists visit a museum in the Middle Ages. Tourists change from one room to another until they are caught by a “ghost”.

Traffic guide:
   It is 50km from the Railway Station to Dalian Discovery Kingdom Theme Park. The light rail starting time is 6:30am, which departs at 10, 30, 50 minutes past every hour and takes 50 minutes to arrive at the terminus, where you can change to a Kingdom special line to arrive at the Discovery Kingdom Theme Park in 2 minutes.
   It is 50km from the city proper to the Discovery Kingdom. It takes around 40 minutes to arrive at the Discovery Kingdom Theme Park by taking a tourist bus in the city. Some tourist agencies or self-run tourist buses have parking stops before the Railway Station.
